N. Narberth Avenue Bridge

At  2:00PM on Monday, September 19th, Borough Manager Bill Martin met with representatives from Pennoni Engineers and the Borough highway crew at the bridge.  The engineers have advised that the walkways, reconstructed about 5 years ago, do not rely upon the support of the brackets shown in the report.  The walkways were designed to "leap frog" over the super structure.  The Pennoni people will send that information to the PennDot inspectors and barring any problems, the walkways could be re-opened.

The Pennoni representatives have started the sketches for the repair of the fissure in the bridge structure.  They will design the steel plates and brackets as required to close  the fissure and repair the location designated.

When the sketches are completed, the steel and the brackets will be ordered and installed.  The only time delay would be the availability of the steel.  That delay will be noted when we receive the required sketches.

Although there is no through traffic, the road is open to the municipal parking lot entrance adjacent to Maido.
